Pressrelease: New CEO at Smedvig AS
Odd Torland resigns as the CEO of Smedvig AS. Torland will continue to serve as an advisor to the owners and management, as well as a board member in several companies within the group. Marit Salte will assume the role of CEO from March 15, 2024.
Odd Torland has been with the Smedvig group since 1991, holding various leadership positions. In 1993, he was appointed acting CEO of Peder Smedvig AS. From 2000 to 2005, he also served as the CEO of Scana Industrier. Since 2005, Torland has been fully dedicated to leading Smedvig’s family companies, playing a crucial role in the current organizational structure and the executed generational transition. Now, it is time to pass on the responsibility.
Marit Salte looks forward to taking on her new role. Salte, formerly the CFO of Smedvig AS, has been part of the company’s leadership for over 22 years, starting as the financial manager in Peder Smedvig AS. Salte holds a degree in business economics from the Norwegian School of Economics. She currently holds several board positions in companies related to the Smedvig group.
